This photo is for those who believe the sun always shines in Hawaii. Not the case, and when it does rain, this being the tropics, it can be torrential. Here, rain sheets down in front of a panax hedge. Panax is widely used here for hedges, growing into a thick, dense barrier. It’s easy to grow, too. One just has to cut off a stick, push it into the ground, and a new plant will soon start growing.

Thanks. I kind of like the torrential downpours. Not sure I’d want to be getting them all the time though.

yeah, they are kind of scary actually.. I was in Kauai a few years ago with all of the hurricanes. it rained for 5 days straight and then everything was so wet, all we could do was eat and drink! lol

Hawaii = rainbows, is how I remember it 🙂 We even had one in a beach shower! Love this rain shot of yours, it does look very tropical and I can almost feel the humidity, hear the rain…

You’re right about the rainbows. The past two days I’ve seen some splendid ones without getting a decent photo. I’m glad you got the feeling I had when I took this photo, rain sheeting down like it would never end.
