This type of ginger is invasive here too. Even when dug up they carry on growing even with their roots exposed!

It’s pretty much a lost cause, but they do make the effort to remove it, particularly in areas where they’re trying to encourage native plants.

There are quite a few showy ginger flowers, but most of them spread like wildfire.
