Here are a couple of colorful benches that can be found at Pana‘ewa Rainforest Zoo & Gardens in Hilo. Designed more for appearance than comfort, there are several similar benches at the zoo (here). If you do visit and choose to sit on the alligator bench, make sure it is a bench and not one of the real alligators.

Definitely wise to be circumspect!

A bench best not seen when you come around a corner at twilight!

The Alligator may be uncomfortable but it would be an interesting feature in a suitable garden.

Something tropical with a pond and lush foliage perhaps.

Something like that. And then install a speaker and something to make the bench vibrate/move a little. People would remember sitting on it if it made alligator noises and moved a little.

If I had a garden, I would do that!

We didn’t have the time to make it to the Pana’ewa zoo, but I would have loved to have seen those! The alligator is very realistic!

The zoo is slightly odd. The benches are fun, the tigers are great, but some of the cages are a bit depressing. It’s great for kids and families though. Not sure I’d consider it a must see.

That’s good to know. I just visited a public zoo sanctuary near where I live that rescues wild animals. I may be posting on this later in the month.

A little less comfy, but a little less worrying perhaps!
