I first saw this turtle taking air at the surface. Then it dived an disappeared under a shelf of rock. This photo gives the impression of the sea floor sloping, but there is no horizon underwater and I like how this angle emphasizes the turtle’s descent.

This is fabulous. You must be diving and taking pictures. How exciting, Graham.

I don’t dive so these are all taken while snorkeling, but they give me a lot of different looks.

Snorkeling, that makes sense. You had to be underwater. The camera did a great job!

Just a little Canon point-and-shoot in a waterproof case, but I’m happy with it.

Cool. When I was in HI once, we went on a snorkling tour and I bought an underwater camera. I think your pictures came out better.

Thanks. I’ve been using it for a while so I hope I’ve got better with it.

A lovely photo and it really does convey the downward descent as the turtle propels itself with its front flippers.

It had been on the surface taking two or three breaths before diving, trying to get away from the annoying photographer I think.

It was a fun moment. The turtle was quite close when I first saw it.
