Northern cardinal family

This northern cardinal family set up home in the yard for a while. Above is the proud father. Next is the attentive mother. Finally there’s junior, looking, as offspring often do, like he might belong to a different species.

    The adults are handsome birds – but junior not only looks like he is from a different species, but perhaps also from a different planet! But that woebegone look must be so effective in soliciting offerings of food from hard-working parents.
