What a great shot. I looked at your other photos of that bird and it’s either quite photogenic or you’re a better photographer than you alluded to the other day.

Thanks. These birds are more often heard than seen so I have a lot of bad photos of them. This one was hung about on an exposed branch so I was able to get some good shots.

I loved the pose! I think the bird was in the mock orange which can be a large shrub or small tree.

No. I think they’re pretty widespread. No idea when they were introduced here.

You prompted me to do so. China and the Himalayas according to Wikipedia and introduced to Hawaii in 1918. I guess they must be fairly adaptable since the climate here is a little different to the Himalayas!
