On a recent swim, the most notable sighting was this duck, bobbing serenely in the water. It took a while to realize that its calm demeanor owed nothing to its personality, but all to its construction. The duck was a decoy, and a well made one, I thought. A dip under the water revealed no legs, but a good amount of marine growth, indicating it had been bobbing along for some time.

An amazing shot Graham!

I was pleased how it turned out. Shots like this are always a bit hit and miss. At least the subject was very patient!

Very realistic. I thought at first that it had some barnacles on its legs, or a disease, so very relieved.

It does look a lot different under the water than above, but I thought it a very realistic decoy.

What a story that duck would have. If it is wood carved decoy duck it’s worth a few $$
I had a couple of plastic ones on my dam. One was attacked by something and was rather damaged, the other was happy to float about until a hole stopped the floating. They are in the mud somewhere now

it looked so real, Graham, and for a moment I worried about the barnacles! Great shot!
