Saddleback Butterflyfish

Saddleback Butterflyfishes

Saddleback Butterflyfish are easily identified with their bold and colorful markings. They’re almost always seen in pairs, and have a fairly wide range when it comes to the depths of water they inhabit. They feed mostly on coral polyps and, like Yellow Tangs, don’t do well in captivity.

I really like their reshape and colour. How big are they? When you mentioned captivity I pictured something goldfish size, but your shot is very sharp if that’s the case.

They grow to about 8 inches, which these were probably close to. Goldfish, on the other hand can grow to 20 inches in the wild!
