A Giant Porcupinefish waits patiently while a Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse gets to work. Cleaner wrasses remove dead tissue, parasites and mucus from fish of all sizes that visit their cleaning stations. Watch out for those spines!

I love cleaning stations and fish just drop by to have a clean up. How do the fish know where to find the Wrasse?

Basically, they set up territories where they ply their trade. I’ve been here 12 years now and I see cleaning stations in the exact same places now as when I first arrived.

Passed though the families maybe. I guess there would be territorial fights among the Wrasse

Most fish can be very territorial. Some of the little ones are real terrors.
