When I’m snorkeling, it’s always fun when a school of fish goes by. This one zipped by off of Mauna Lani. I’m not sure what they were. They went past too quickly.

That is fantastic photography, Graham. Awesome. What a fun experience. We have some migratory cormorants visiting us at the moment, and they swarm over the schools of fish with a couple of pelican hangers on. It is quite a spectacle.

Yes, schools get attacked from above and below, but that behavior must provide enough benefits to keep doing it.

Very nice shoots. I like the second ‘pattern’ best.

I like how the apparent color of them changed as they went by.

I think that helped influence my choice of pattern.

That was a speedy bunch

Most fish are speedy. My wife and I always joke that anything in the water that’s curious about us is probably wondering how something so clumsy and slow can survive!

And some of them wonder that being so ungainly, would they be easy to catch and eat

There are biters around here, but not much in the way of eaters!

A whole differen world down there. First time I went down I never wanted to come back. It was magic..in Bali..a mile or so offshore. Long time ago. Hope that hasn’t been destroyed along with so much else.

It is a different world. I love that every time I get in there’s a fair chance I’ll see something I’ve never seen before.
