

It’s been a long time since I saw a Crowned Jellyfish so naturally, on a recent swim, I saw two of them. The one was up near the surface while the other pulsed along closer to the rocks and coral.


It’s been a long time since I saw a Crowned Jellyfish so naturally, on a recent swim, I saw two of them. The one was up near the surface while the other pulsed along closer to the rocks and coral.
Your photos have captured their form so beautifully, from tendrils to smooth sides, and it can’t be easy with that pale colour.

In my marine invertebrates book it says, “The author has handled it with no ill effects.” Of course, you could say the same thing about a grenade!
