I spotted this small Pacific Day Octopus on the move and it quickly headed for a spot to settle down. The place it chose was just below a head of coral, which was occupied by an Arc-Eye Hawkfish. The hawkfish didn’t move, but didn’t look happy with its new neighbor.

Such potential for drama there!

Indeed, though I suspect the octopus just moved on after I was gone!

Another underwater marvel Graham. I guess the Hawkfish didn’t want to become dinner

Not too likely. Those hawkfish are pretty quick to move if they have to.

Perfectly understandable. I’m sure the hawkish rented that real estate for the season, believing it to be secluded.

I bet he wishes that was the case. They can get turfed out by a variety of bigger fish.
