Yellow tangs are common here and are usually seen in schools. I like how, when they move from one feeding spot to another, they string out in long, colorful lines. They’re often seen in mixed schools with convict tangs, the paler fish with vertical black lines.
Convicts! I love that yellow

Must be a blast to watch them flash by 🙂

Well, they generally don’t ‘flash.’ Mostly they wander by in a dignified and sedate manner. But if something bothers them, then they’re quite capable of quick action.

Great names they’ve got. Convict tags especially. They yellow ones look great with the sunlight reflecting off them.

Yellow tangs can often be seen while standing on the shore, they’re so bright. They’re invariably the first fish any visitor to Hawaii sees.

Presumably convict tangs because of the striped uniform?

Yes, and they have that look about them.
