I processed this photo, taken at a fishpond in Mauna Lani, a while ago. For the life of me, I can’t remember why I made two versions. The first is close to the original photo, but I must have produced the second when I was adjusting colors and liked it enough to keep it. I’m not sure I’m as taken with it now as I apparently was then.

I like them both, but I do love the colors in the second one!

I think there was something about the colors the made me keep the second one, But I have no recollection of why I did that!

Ditto what Bridgette said! They are both unique and beautiful! My eye was immediately drawn to the post. I just want to dissolve into those hued shades. I love both versions: the crisp and perky green apple shades as well as the quivering lavender streaks of the second.

Thanks Lisa. It’s interesting how two different versions can emerge from the same photo.

I kind of like the 2nd one. It reminds me of the Northern Lights (not that I’ve ever seen them)

Are the Northern light visible from where you are or do you have to go farther north?

Theoretically they are, if you manage to find a spot away from the city lights at 2-3 am. Usually I’m in bed then, not on a deserted hill somewhere in the forest. For some reason, the Northern Lights always happen at night, even when it’s dark during the day – at least in Helsinki. I’ve never managed to see them.
