This moth appeared on the back door of the house a few days ago. It remained there through the afternoon and evening, posing a bit of a problem when going in and out. We didn’t want it to fly into the house, but it appeared unconcerned at our coming and goings. Next morning, it was gone.

It must be a fair old size! I’m glad it didn’t get in and cause the pursuit around the house, with dabs of moth dust as it flees.

They can have a wingspan of around 10 inches, but this one was probably half that. I’ve never had one in the house. Once they’re settled in a spot, it takes a lot to disturb them.
