The mock orange by the house is in full bloom again and the bees have been having a field days with the flowers. It’s a case of getting it while they can because, while the blooms are prolific, they’re short-lived. In the meantime, the flowers’ fragrance fills the air.

Wonderful. Is that also Mexican orange blossom? It looks like it and the description of the scent sounds right. Mine flowers two or three times a year.

I think mock orange is different to Mexican orange though there is a Mexican mock orange to add to the confusion. To be honest, I haven’t formally identified our tree. We were just told that’s what it is. Ours blooms two or three times a year too.

It’s a heady scent that fills the air when it’s in bloom.

I have a couple around the house. So lovely when they flower and the breeze sends the scent into the house no matter which direction almost

It is, and when the bloom fades, it’s like it’s snowing, with flurries of creamy white petals drifting to the ground.
