
This Monarch Butterfly caterpillar was busy munching its way through an Hawaiian Crown Flower plant. But all that eating means it poops a lot. That poop, politely known as frass, is what those greenish nuggets on the left are. My first thought when I saw them was, ‘those are big poops!’

Excellent macro Graham. I found a small pooh on my verandah this morning. Judging by the contents I say it was a frog. Yes I do look at poohs every now and then 😁

For such a small creature…
I saw the most beautiful black and pale yellow butterflies this afternoon, but they wouldn’t stay put.

I know how you feel. What is it with butterflies. Mind you, they’re slowpokes compared to dragonflies!

First time seeing poop from a butterfly. Yes, they are big poops then I would expect.
