The idea of The Numbers Game is to enter a number into the search bar of your computer and then post a selection of the photos that turn up. This week’s number is 212, which turned up a selection dominated by plants, so I’ve gone for an all-plant line up. Captions are on the photos. You can see more responses here.

What a floral fiesta this number has turned up. So many fabulous macros and colours 😀

Oh my god, they’re ask stunners. I’m going to try and get the miss mini purple for a friend who loves purple. Hopefully it’ll grow here.

There’s only one way to find out!

Well, for starters I wrote all, not ask, but must check my entries. Secondly, a couple of purples are around but they’re not as deep as the purple in your shot, so I might wait until I see one flowering.

I wonder if an aphelandra would flourish in Mexico in a sub-tropical climate? I love the flower!!!

I think it would be OK. It’s quite hardy once it’s established, but if you grow it in a pot you’d want to bring it indoors if it gets cold.

Lucky it never gets cold here. Bromeliads flourish as do most succulents. I think we’ve had hail once in 24 years..snow or frost never, although they did have snow once 30 miles from here.

Sounds like they’ll grow there then.

Well, many can be found in similar climes, but I do like the array of flowers I see here.
