I spotted this Manta Ray coming towards me about the same time it spotted me. I thought it might come and check me out, but it clearly decided against that, dove down and then scooted away. It was the first manta Iād seen for a long time so, regardless of its response, I was very happy to see it.

Lovely shadows and light on it, Graham and beautifully captured.

It’s just point and shoot and hope for the best. Sometimes the creatures in the sea just whizz by!

That is so cool Graham. One of my favourite marine animals. I hope you get to see more.

Sometimes sightings happen in clumps with big gaps in between.

You got a couple of good shots, anyway. Maybe next time it’ll feel more social xx

My wife says she’s seen this one before. They do tend to have their territories.

Lovely. I remember seeing these in Egypt when snorkelling. You could swim just behind them and follow them around the sea floor š

Be careful where you follow them. I woman I knew here was following some mantas and didn’t realize the current was carrying her offshore. When she looked up she could barely see the shore and it took her all day to swim back!
