It’s just click bait, though flying into Kona is a bit unnerving as the approach is over barren lava fields. I remember thinking ‘I hope there’s a runway somewhere up ahead!’
The main road passes by the airport, a bit up the hill from it. I can get decent photos just by pulling over to the side,especially when the light is good as it was on this morning.

Not really a plane spotter, but the road I drive runs by the airport and when the light is good it makes for decent photos
