When I was last at the Golden Pools of Keawaiki, I encountered this metallic skink skittering along the water’s edge and then clambering up over the lava. I’m always impressed by creatures that live in such a harsh environment.

It’s not chilly right now, but Estonia is, generally, quite a cold country. So no lizards here….

Interesting golden color, fits well with the metallic – like an animal world version of a scifi movie… skinks on an alien planet… something like that! 😉
