This variable lady beetle was one of two scuttling around on a bird of paradise flower. The flies seemed very interested in it and kept checking it out. There were also flying ants and a wasp on the flower, drawn by the nectar no doubt.

Quite a fiesta going on there. The colours are brilliant.

Bird of paradise flowers are great with their range of color. I particularly wanted to get the red ladybug against the blue.

We have one of these in the garden …there is so much (i guess it is nectar) jelly stuff that comes out of it, always crawling with ants….

Yes, they’re popular with everything from bugs to geckos. Such a colorful tropical flower.
