I’m not sure how this papaya came to be abandoned on this step, but it got the attention of several gold dust day geckos, which are partial to a bit of fruit.

Such cute geckoes! I wonder what the collective noun for geckoes is??

I’m so glad you asked this question, not because I have the answer, but because in looking for the answer I discovered that the group name for lizards is a lounge of lizards. I love that. It’s right up there with a murder of crows as far as I’m concerned.

I’ve heard of leaping lizards and lounge lizards but a lounge of lizards is something else, I completely agree.
I wonder if there is a collective noun for people who think up collective nouns?

A collective of collective noun composers perhaps?

Looks like one of them is hogging it. ”Dibs on the papaya! Go surfing, you lot!”

It was hogging it only for a moment. The others also got their shot. Very egalitarian!
