I like to go snorkeling whenever I get the opportunity, but there are some days when that’s not possible. This is a photo of my local snorkeling spot. That’s the parking area on the right, and the place where I generally park my car is right where that tower of spray is.
In other words, this was the kind of day to find something else to do, such as take photos from the shore.

Definitely not good snorkeling conditions – and not only because the viz is likely to be bad!

I’ve got in the water in some pretty rough conditions, but it’s really a waste of time. I couldn’t see anything and didn’t enjoy swimming in those conditions. These days, I’m a tiny bit wiser and don’t bother to get in.

I love watching big surf rolling in – from a safe spot of course. It’s very impressive.

I think the gate was locked so I couldn’t have got in if I wanted to. They usually shut the parks if the conditions look like being really bad.
