Hawaiian garden spider

A walkway in front of an old building was thick with Hawaiian garden spiders. I liked how the bright jewel-like colors of the spider contrasted with the faded green paint of the building.

I do remember looking up spiders in Hawaii before our trip there (coming from Australia where everything is poisonous). To ny relief I found out there are no poisonous spiders or snakes in Hawaii (correct me if I’m wrong) BUT there was some kind of enormous jumping spider!!!!! Have you ever seen one?

I don’t know if any giant jumping spiders here. The biggest ones are the wolf spider, which I’ve never seen, and cane spiders, which are very fast but not especially jumpers. The traditional cane spider measurement is ‘the size of a tuna can!’ Most of it is legs though!
