I saw these two goats foraging along the beach at Kiholo Bay. There’s slim pickings to be had, but there are no shortage of goats in that area so they must be finding something somewhere.

There’s no kelp there, just stuff blown off the trees. It’s not a trek for them really because they live in the trees just inland and drink from brackish pools just behind the beach.

Lordy, do they stop you from swimming there? And is it natural food or rubbish, they’re after?

Well, they’ll eat anything, but on the beach I think probably they nibble on greenery blown off the trees. That spot isn’t a great swimming area, but I doubt they trouble anyone who does swim. I wouldn’t leave my lunch unattended on the beach though!

Not much on the beach itself, but there are trees inshore and some grasses. And goats will eat pretty much anything!

Waipio Valley is well known for its wild horses, which often spend time on the beach there.
