This Phalaenopsis Minho Princess orchid was at Hawai’i Tropical Bioreserve & Garden. The garden has been closed for almost a year now because of the Covid-19 pandemic. I haven’t seen any indication of when it will reopen though it will undoubtedly do so when conditions are right.

I hope the waiting won’t be too long …

I think we are all in a kind of limbo of anticipation! Beautiful orchid – I hope they can be visited again before too long.

I think they’re waiting for the vaccines to reduce the spread and allow for more tourism here.

Yes, I imagine so. I think this one gets a lot of tourists so, given that those numbers are down, that’s a factor. Plus, maintaining social distancing there would be difficult. Hopefully as more people are vaccinated, those things will ease up.

Beautiful! I love that garden and I love orchids! If only I could keep them blooming here at home!

I’ve never tried growing orchids, but I can see why people would. There must be some tricks to keeping them blooming.

I think they need more light than I get in my house.. But I keep trying!

Maybe some kind of grow light would help.
