This week’s Sunday Stills challenge theme is ‘Color Challenge: Ruby wine.’ See more responses here. Terri described ruby wine as ‘burgundy-brownish’ and included a handy color match, which I’ve made use of here.
The top photo shows exterior of the Pu’uanahulu Baptist Church. The second photo features a fire extinguisher on a colorful wall. I liked the reflections in glass of the cabinet. The bottom photo features another church, this time the interior of the Painted Church south of Captain Cook.

Hi Graham, What a charming church. It almost looks like it’s decorated for Christmas with those poles. the Baptist church is quaint and a lovely color, too. 🙂 Great choices for ruby red-wine. 🙂

We have visited a few churches in HI, none quite so colorful.

I’ve posted photos before of the little Painted Church near Captain Cook. That might be the most colorful church I’ve seen anywhere!

I wouldn’t have thought that first a church, Graham, but I looked back and spotted the spire. It’s lovely!

I’m not a religious person but I’ve always enjoyed visiting churches. I’ve photographed quite a few on the Big Island and these are a couple of my favorites.

Wow, you captured the rubywine color perfectly, Graham! I love the barn. I had an image like that and of course, I forgot to use it! That baptist church is gorgeous!

Glad you liked them Terri. It certainly helps that you post a color swatch, otherwise I’d be struggling!
