This week’s Sunday Stills challenge theme is ‘Plunge!’ See more responses here.
My morning plunge is not a dip in the water, but making coffee in a French press. Fresh ground coffee in the carafe, fill with hot water, and let it sit for four minutes. Then push the plunger down, pour the coffee, and add half and half. And another day gets underway!

Morning coffee is the best thing ever!

Oh good one. We’re plungers, too. Although it’s a mid-morning thing for me. A consequence of giving up smoking some 20-odd years ago, I think, was to start the day with tea and break old habits. I truly savour the coffee when I have it.

I think the French press makes a good cup of coffee and it’s really simple to use.

Completely agree.

Good one Graham. I use an espresso machine now but the plunger comes out if the power is out.

I used to use an espresso machine, but got tired of futzing with it. Now the press is good for my one cup a day.

What a great idea for “plunge” Graham! Great shots of the process! We started using a French press in our camper, then discovered Melita’s drip which makes more for two people. If I can’t have my morning cuppa I might as well hide in bed 🙂

We get two big cups out of our French press which is just the right amount.
