There’s one kind of bird feeder that has stood the test of time. An example of it is this Common Waxbill feeding a couple of youngsters.

    Beautiful shot. I see you think they’ll be independent soon. We had a magpie chick being fed every day ( from the dog’s bowl) and making a huge racket. It went for about three months so despite the size, it was fed for a while.

      These two seemed pretty mellow. Barely a peep out of them and they just accepted the food. Today, I was watching some Saffron Finches and the two youngsters, both quite big, were badgering the parents without pause. They won’t be independent for a while!
