This week’s Sunday Stills Monthly Color Challenge is ‘White and Pastels.’ See more responses here.
Rosy-faced Lovebirds are also known as Peach-faced Lovebirds and they have a lot of color variations. I have yet to see a rosy face in Hawaii outside of tourists who’ve seen too much sun. Instead, the local birds tend towards pastel shades whether they’re dining or simply hanging out.

That is so beautifully captured Graham.

A great response to white and pastels, Graham. We call them peach-faced lovebirds, I think, unless they are a different one again.

I expect they’re the same. That name is also used here.

Not only under water but on land as well. These are wonderful bird photos.

Thanks Brian. They’re fairly cooperative birds, spending a good deal of time either feeding or preening.

Most of my decent in flight photos happen by accident, including this one!

Aww, these rosy-faced love birds are so sweet, Graham! Nice lens captures, I like the one where the one is flapping its wings! I just remembered that we had a lovebird when I was 9 years old and living in Beaverton, OR. She had the best noises!

These are transient birds that come through from time to time. Generally the first clue to their arrival is the distinctive noises they make!
