Here’s where my garden grows

A gecko on a wax ginger at Hawaii Tropical Bioreserve and Garden
A small Gold Dust Day Gecko climbs over a Wax Ginger. The small yellow parts are the flowers and the red mass is bracts.

This week’s Sunday Stills challenge theme is ‘Plant Life.’ See more responses here.

Here are a few plants seen on my last visit to Hawai’i Tropical Bioreserve & Garden. For more information about Hawai’i Tropical Bioreserve & Garden, go to htbg.com.

The garden is currently somewhat different to previous years because they lost some big trees in a storm and are repairing several areas. Still a great place to visit though.

I enjoyed our walk through the bioreserve when we were there, Graham. I think you mentioned that the flowers and plants change every so often and they bloom and die off accordingly. And the gardens do some improvements no doubt. Gorgeous pics from “your” garden. Love the lively gecko on the ginger bloom!

This past year, they lost some large trees in a storm, so the garden is getting some big changes. It’s more open right now, but that’ll change as things start growing.
