The Numbers Game #6

Lake Waiau near the summit of Mauna Kea.

The idea of The Numbers Game is to enter a number into the search bar and then post a selection of the photos that turn up.

This week’s number is 127. As with last week’s post, three of these photos haven’t run before.

You can see more responses here.

Not sure what you mean by perched lake. Lake Waiau is an oddity in that it is high on a volcano, which is largely comprised of porous lava rock, but the lake exists despite this. It’s the only one of its kind in Hawaii as far as I know.

I love the lakes in the Pyrenees and the Alps as well. I remember hiking up to a lake in the Alps one scorching summer day, imagining the joy of diving in and cooling off. When I got there I dipped my toe in the water and the image instantly vanished. It was freezing!

It’s searching in my photo files. Depending on how your photos are stored you have to have either numbers or names involved, at least as far as I know. I give my photos a name, the date they were taken and the last three digits of the original file. That way I can find pretty much anything one way or another!

Oh dear! I just muddle along. I have folders of photos but they’re not named or numbered so I can’t easily find anything. It’s too big an undertaking now to go back and organise them. My blog lives very much in the present, with just the occasional glimpse backwards.
