
A couple of Kalij Pheasants have moved into the neighborhood. They spend most of their time at the unoccupied property next door, but wander up into my yard on occasion. When I went out to take photos, this one beat a hasty retreat.

Well, they were brought here as gamebirds so I guess they probably are.

I wonder if someone is missing their Kalij Pheasants. Escapees no doubt unless having an Hawaiian holiday from India

Not escapees, but a deliberate introduction as a gamebird in the 1960s!

They tend to be pretty skittish in my experience.
