A couple of the trees blown down by Hurricane Lala at Mahukona Beach Park. The park was shut for several days with lots of trees blown down and other damage. The wharf parking area is still closed because concrete barriers, that prevent people from driving into the sea, have to be replaced. One is currently underwater, next to the steps where people get in the water.
Another hurricane is currently passing close to the island so more damage is likely!
I hope you’re not worried, Graham, and that there’ll be little damage.

I don’t worry about it because there’s nothing I can do! So far so good though, just a lot of rain and wind which is not unusual here.

Yes, doing OK. I don’t think it will be too bad up where I live as the hurricane doesn’t appear to be coming as close to the island as first thought. Could be very wet and windy down south though.

I’m up in Hawi on the northern tip of the island and it’s likely to be not too bad here. Hilo could have it worse, particularly in the rainfall department.

Well it’s blowing pretty good currently, but then it often does here. The track of the current hurricane looks like it won’t come as close to the Big Island as first thought. Might still get a fair amount of rain though and the south of the island might be more affected.
