Trees down
A couple of the trees blown down by Hurricane Lala at Mahukona Beach Park. The park was shut for several days with lots of trees blown down and other damage. The wharf parking area is still closed because concrete barriers, that prevent people from driving into the sea, have to be replaced. One is currently underwater, next to the steps where people get in the water.
Another hurricane is currently passing close to the island so more damage is likely!
Oleander
These Oleanders were growing at Mahukona Beach Park. They had a nice scent, but are not something to be consumed as they’re quite poisonous.

Surf and slippah
There’s often things left behind on the coast. This was a stray slippah at Mahukona.
It’s white, it’s bright
This hen at Mahukona looked remarkably clean and bright for a stray.
Under the rainbow

Seems like I see a rainbow or two half the time I go swimming. Hawaii is not called the rainbow state for nothing!
I need a drink
Wasps gather at the watering hole, a large depression in a rock at Mahukona, that people fill with fresh water for the birds.
