Jade color
This week’s Sunday Stills challenge theme is ‘Monthly Color Challenge: Jade.’ See more responses here. I think these photos are in the ballpark.
At the top is a selection of colorful kayaks available for rent on the beach at ʻAnaehoʻomalu Bay. The one on the left looks jade to me, maybe a couple of others, too.
The middle photo is a sign at a business in Hawi.
Finally, this building in Kapaau, housing L&L Hawaiian Barbecue and other businesses, has some jade as well as a multitude of other colors.
Abstracts: Ripples
Ripples in the water of ʻAimakapā Fishpond at Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park. It was a calm day and these weren’t wind generated, but rather from fish snatching insects off the surface of the pond.
Signs: Working together
I’ve posted about this sign before (here), but recently I was walking along the coast, noticed this view, and it struck me how odd this must look to anyone coming from this direction for the first time.

Abstracts: Bubbles
When I’m in the water, I like taking photos looking back up toward the surface. These can produce some strange and unusual images. On this day, clumps of bubbles were drifting around and catching the light.

Abstracts: Plumeria buds
This is the time of year when Plumeria produce buds, which will become flowers in the next week or two. There were a few leaves on this tree, but most will fill in after the flowers bloom.
