A gecko soaks up the sun
A gold dust day gecko soaks up early morning sunlight on a leaf of an agave plant. It’s a common sight to see geckos and anoles warming themselves in this way as they get a start on their day.

When the mangoes start falling, they get everywhere. This agave catches several each year.
Agave sisalana
The leaves of agave sisalana are used to produce sisal fiber, which is used in making ropes amongst other things. However, what draws attention are the tall flower stems reaching 15 or 20 feet into the air. Around here, strong winds often blow the stems over, temporarily blocking roads and driveways.
