This week’s Sunday Stills challenge theme is ‘The Pink Side of Life.’ See more responses here.
The top photo shows a leaf cutter bee on what I think is a zinnia violacea flower. Next we have a ball of Egyptian starcluster (Pentas lanceolata) flowers and Pinkfringe (Arthrostemma ciliatum) flowers.
Next comes the lovely marking of a shell ginger flower and the puffy blooms of a sensitive plant.
Finally, there’s a pink banana hosting a visitor, a gold dust day gecko after a little something to drink.
Also posted in response to Becky’s October Squares challenge theme of ‘Past Squares – In the Pink/Flowers.’ See more responses here.
Stunning!

I particularly like the top photo. And that pink banana had me flummoxed as the inflorescence grows out the top, and I am used to seeing bananas where it droops down below the fruit stem.

That’s the norm here too, but these were different. I don’t see too many of the black and white bees here but when I do, I take lots of photos.

Lovely shades, Graham. Just trying to catch up after having my daughter to stay.

Thanks, hon! I didn’t make it easy for anybody, self included, but I think I’ve sorted a few issues now.

Glad to hear you’ve smoothed out the bumps. My schedule has gone off road this week so I’m just hanging on, but will hopefully return to an even keel soon!

Amazing pink florals, Graham! Are they from your frequent visits to the botanical gardens? That was a beautiful place. Love the gecko on the pin banana and that shell ginger.

Some are from the gardens and some from elsewhere. The gecko was at the gardens, and the ginger from around here.

How nice to have the ginger close by. I remember when we stayed at the B&B on Hilo Bay, ginger was everywhere!

Yes, it’s widespread. They do put out some fabulous flowers though.

Like many gingers, they’re very beautiful if a bit invasive.
