This month’s Sunday Stills Color Challenge theme is ‘Yellow.’ See more responses here. Once again, I’ve gone for a melange of photos, which sounds edible, but probably isn’t. Captions on the photos.

Those were great. WoW capturing that wasp was cool.

Glad you liked them Kirstin. The wasp was fortuitous, but I was glad to see it.

But the wasp is spectacular.

The wasp was a lucky photo. I basically will shoot a short burst with flying insects and this one came out really nicely.

Beautiful moon and those vivid yellows from festivals are very cheerful.

Thanks. I took a lot of photos with Terri’s color themes in mind.

I like that about the challenges- they focus my attention and I really see some things, rather than scanning everything.

Fabulous photos of yellows Graham. If that brilliant Wasp photo didn’t have a shadow I was going to call bullshit 😂

Thanks Marsha. Saffron finches are quite common here and quite lovely too.

I hope the birds and wildlife were able to find a safe place during the fires.

I hope so too. The Lahaina fire was very fast moving, which not only caught out the people but undoubtedly some of the wildlife.

We all mourn with those residents of Lahaina. Hawaii has a special place in the hearts of everyone who has ever visited there.

Yes, it does, and it will be interesting to see how Maui recovers. It won’t be the same but the questions is, what will the changes be?

If it is like Avila Beach in CA, it will be modern, beautiful and extremely expensive. It won’t be quaint. It sounds like the gov. of HI wants to keep developers out, though. We will just have to wait and see.

That Avila Beach scenario is what worries people on Maui.

I’m sure it does.

Oh my goodness, these are amazing yellows, Graham! The wasp is incredible as well as the saffron finch! I always love seeing pics of the Kamehameha parades!

Thanks, Terri. I was very happy to get that wasp photo. Just a bit of luck. When I was at the Kamehameha parade this year I thought how well those photos could work for your color challenges. Expect to see a few more before I’m done!
