These were at Mauna Kea Resort when I went down there for an evening snorkel.

The torches do create a lovely atmosphere.

Yes, snorkeling in the dark. It was before a guided tour to see manta rays.

    Well, lights on the shore and on some boats offshore, but not much in the snorkeling group.

        The lights provide quite a bit of illumination. The idea is for the lights to attract plankton, which is what Manta Rays eat, so they show up for the feast.
