These birds were on the ground when I approached, but then took to the air in unison. They quickly landed on the fence and overhead wires and it became eerily quiet again. I immediately thought of the Hitchcock film, and hastened on.

    Love it. I was working at the pumpkin patch this weekend and not far from where I was standing, birds would land on the ground…it was close to an old truck they had set up with pumpkins and cornstalks…when people would walk by, the birds would fly up. I was hoping for a “photo op”, but no cooperation or right timing. Oh well.

    Oh boy, Graham, you captured the eeriness of The Birds perfectly here. Isn’t that funny, when birds suddenly go deathly quiet? Nothing eerier.

    Years ago, I visited the set where they filmed the movie in Bodega Bay. There is something STILL creepy about seeing the school house.
