Oh I love that first photo – it reminds me of my former home and is so soothing as here we suffer through a very dry summer and widespread wild fires.

I’ve actually been there twice. in 1970 and 1974. Doing the math, hard to believe that was 56 and 52 years ago!
The second time I went I met Don Ho at a party in his dressing room. Does anyone still know who Don Ho was?

His name is familiar to me though not his music. That’s not what I was listening to back then!

He was probably the only Hawaiian musician well-known on the mainland and a college friend who had moved to Hawaii knew him so took me to his party.

The Conehead is a favorite of mine. The filefish is one I hadn’t run before. Not sure why.

Before I enlarged it, I thought the second photo was a hand holding an anturium! Every time I see your photros it makes me want to return to Hawaii.
