Anyone who has visited Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and driven down Chain of Craters Road to the coast, likely ended up taking a photo of Holei Arch, which is near the end of the road.
Anyone who visits that spot in the future will not do that, because the arch is no more. It collapsed while the park was closed during the passage of Tropical Storm Nolo. The exact time of its collapse isn’t known. It was there on Wednesday, September 23, but gone by Sunday evening on September 27.

What a shame, but that’s a great photo for remembrance.

It was bound to fall at some point. There’s a lot of rough water down there.

That is the way of nature. Would have been a spectacular collapse.
The Twelve Apostles here (really only nine) are now reduced to seven due to storms and collapsing

It was always going to happen. I found it interesting that in these days of cameras everywhere and social media coverage, the collapse wasn’t noticed for three days!

I guess everyone was hiding from the storm

In a way. The park was closed so, no visitors, no need for anyone else to go down there.

What an awful shame! That’s a terrific photo you have as a reminder, Graham xx

Those things always collapse in the end, but they look good while they last.
