Your archive must be a treasure trove! The bird in the gorgeous first photo looks like the South African Cape white-eye?

It’s a Japanese White-eye, but there are several quite similar birds around the world.

Thanks Karen. A photo I’d forgotten about, and one reason I like this challenge.

Gorgeous, especially the first one and the butterflies have such nice colours. The lava moment is crazy, they could have stumbled right into it, not paying attention!

It was a wild scene. I was amazed no one fell in, especially later when it got dark. The park is stricter now about where you can go and what you can do.

Another cool series with nature and macros Graham.
I am sure that couple would notice when their arses start cooking

It was one of the more surreal experiences of my life. Those people could have fallen through that crust at any time. These days the parks are stricter when it comes to where you can go and what you can do.

I don’t see my comment from before so will comment again on that incredible first photo. I love it and it would include it in my favorites of 13 years of blogging, Graham.

Thanks Judy. Your comments ended up in spam for some reason. Only noticed them today. I’d forgotten about that first photo, so finding it again through your challenge was a bonus. The lava scene was quite surreal. The park has tightened up its act since then!

Glad you liked it Aletta. The last photo is a favorite just because of how surreal the scene was.
