This week’s Sunday Stills challenge theme is ‘Eerie.’ See more responses here.
I couldn’t think of too many eerie things amongst my photos. This image of trees on the lower slopes of Mauna Kea, shrouded in cloud, is as close as it gets. This is a fairly common occurrence as clouds tend to build up during the day and often reach this area in the afternoons.
Also posted in response to Becky’s October Squares challenge theme of ‘Past Squares – Sky’ (See more responses here), and to the current Friendly Friday challenge theme of ‘Weather’ (See more responses here).
Fog can definitely be eerie! I live up on a hill, and often it’s clear and as soon as I drive down and hit the bottom fog has settled and it can look eerie.

Fog is definitely eerie. I love those times when I’m up above fog or cloud and have clear skies, but knowing if I descend a couple of hundred feet I won’t be able to see anything. Such a contrast.

It’s probably eerie, late at night when there’s no light and the wild (wolves? bears? cougars? Hawaiian BigFoot? ) are howling

It is pretty amazing that you could find something eerie in Hawaii, Graham. You did it, though. Great foggy picture. 🙂

Nicely done on combining three photo challenges, Graham! A photo-blogger after my own heart, LOL! I would think fog in Hawaii would be eerie (other than the vog), since most of us equate the tropics with sunshine and blue skies!

It always feels a bit strange here to be in the clouds whereas in Washington State, it was a fairly routine event!
