The idea of The Numbers Game is to enter a number into the search bar of your computer and then post a selection of the photos that turn up. This week’s number is 220. Captions are on the photos. You can see more responses here.

I really enjoyed this selection. Interesting the Lahaina noon.

Thanks Carol. Lahaina noon is one of those niche things that’s interesting to see.

Bee one and the beach one my faves. Makes me want to go to the beach.

The beaches are good year round here, though currently the wind is howling and rain lashing so not a beach day.

That beach is idyllic. Not many people, shade trees, interesting shoreline. Love your capture of the bee carrying the pollen as well.

The beach is very popular with families as the water is almost always calm. But during the week it is often pretty quiet. I took a lot of photos of bees on those plants to get one or two good ones!

I especially liked the shy/hiding eel and the bee.

Thanks Janet. Eels are adept at squeezing through the tiniest spaces. I took tons of photos of the bees flying and a few turned out happily.

goodness was this at noon as that’s a tiny shadow!

Those little shadows are the arms on the lamp. The pole and its base cast no shadow at all because it’s Lahaina noon, when the sun is directly overhead. This only occurs in the tropics, twice a year as the sun appears to travel north and then south again. The link in the photo, at https://grahamsisland.com/2020/07/23/lahaina-noon/ has more details.
