A native Koki'o 'Ula'Ula flower in Hawaii

Koki’o ‘Ula’Ula is a native hibiscus which is rare in the wild, but available in nurseries. This one is a bit past its prime. I’ll have to go back to where I saw it at Kohanaiki to see if I can get a more robust bloom. Posted for Terri’s Flower Hour. See more responses here.

Reflections in a shiny Airstream trailer in Kawaihae Hawaii

In Kawaihae, there’s a very shiny Airstream trailer which houses Seabird Coffee. When I stopped to take photos of it, what caught my eye was that one rounded corner of the trailer did wonderful things to vehicles waiting for shipment elsewhere, my car (on the left), and a passing truck!
