I’m going with this big splash of whitewater. But how did it get there? The splash was the finale of the sequence in the slideshow below.
Seeing this Humpback Whale in the air was a lovely follow up to the magical encounter, a couple of weeks ago, with a Humpback Whale in the water (here).

I was driving up the hill to work, when I noticed the sunrise, over the lower slopes of Hualalai, was illuminating the ridge exactly. It was also creating an angled wedge of shadow on the opposite side of the volcano.

I saw these two Cushion Stars on the beach in Kawaihae Harbor. Cushion Stars come in a variety of shapes and colors.

If only there was another sign! That would help me understand. Needless to say, people walk their dogs here, or just hang out under the giant Banyan trees, without repercussions. I think the main purpose of the signs is in case someone does themselves a mischief. Then the property owner can claim the miscreants were trespassing.
