I spotted this MG in front of the Aloha Man store in Hawi and had to take a photo. I thought it fit right in, even matching the paintwork.

There’s a water dispenser in downtown Hawi that’s available 24 hours, seven days a week. Quite a lot of people live off grid here and while they collect catchment water, they often don’t have systems for making it safe to drink. That’s where this spot comes in handy. It could use a new banner though.

The idea of The Numbers Game is to enter a number into the search bar of your computer and then post a selection of the photos that turn up. This week’s number is 196. Captions are on the photos. You can see more responses here.

This church, like many others, has a sign board out front, though this is the only one around here that’s a rather garish neon affair. I have to confess that when I saw this message my first thought was, ‘So, can I borrow his lawnmower?’ I’m going straight down to the hot place, I know.

This Northern Cardinal looked splendid against the blue sky, and I also liked how he used his tail for balance.

The Jodo Mission in Hawi is getting ready to celebrate Children’s Day. This traditional Japanese holiday was known as Boy’s Days, celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month, while Girl’s Day was celebrated on March 3, the third day of the third month. These days, there’s a push to celebrate both as Children’s Day on May 5th. One of the features is the flying of carp-shaped windsocks. There will also be gifts and special treats.
The windsock photo is posted for Bushboy’s Last on the Card challenge. See more responses here.

Light filters down onto a palm plant, deep in a gully.
